You can complete your estate planning remotely in four steps:

Step 1: Initial Meeting Over Zoom

  • Review our estate planning process.

  • Review your family situation, your assets and your goals.

  • Discuss planning options.

  • Introduce design packet.

  • Engage Attorney.

  • Schedule next remote meeting.

  • Use your design packet to consider and discuss your decisions before your next meeting in the comfort of your own home.

Step 2: Design Meeting Over Zoom

  • Begin formal design of your estate plan using your at-home design packet as a guide. Work with your attorney to carefully choose the following:

    • Successor Trustees and Executors

    • Beneficiaries

    • A distribution plan for each beneficiary, which may include a trust fund or special needs trust for beneficiaries with special needs

    • Guardians for children

    • A re-adoption plan for pets

    • Charitable contributions and other gifts

    • A plan for any special circumstances such as the use or transfer of your home or cabin

    • People to handle financial and medical decisions for you in case you have a serious illness or accident

    • End-of-life care and memorial services

  • Schedule final document review meeting.

Step 3: Document Review Meeting Over Zoom

  • Review each document thoroughly with your attorney and make final decisions.

  • Work with our team to schedule your signing meeting with a mobile notary at your home or office (included in your flat fee).

Step 4: Signing Meeting

  • We securely mail your trust and estate plan package to you.

  • You and the mobile notary sit down and sign each document according to our careful instructions.

  • The mobile notary sends us photo scans of your signed documents so we can do a final review to make sure they have been properly signed and notarized.

  • The notary returns to us any original documents that need to be recorded, such as trust transfer deeds needed to place your home or other real estate into your trust.

  • You keep your estate plan binder with the original signed documents. We create digital copies for you, and we retain a fully executed digital set of copies in our secure archive.
